Same problem here. You first get the highscore, then the game bring you back to title screen. It must be bugged somehow? However, if you start the game next time (press fire on title screen) you will start on level 2 (with score 000000). So all levels can be played even if your score is lost.

Edit: If someone wants to play this crap:

You have to get all crystals before you can take the key to the door. Do that before the time runs out!
