Yes it is perfectly possible to install the trapdoor chip memory upgrade alongside the SRAM.

The SRAM provides vital Fast Memory (which the A600 doesn't have). Many older games require Fast memory to work.

A combination of both upgrades is great. The largest SRAM card that can be used is 4MB but unfortunately they are very difficult to source and usually expensive.

Larger than 4GB hard disks dont work with the Amiga's FFS prior to AmigaOS 3.5 / 3.9. SO you would have to install SFS or PFS onto a larger than 4GB hard disk.
