Yup I thought so too but the site http://amigos.amiga.hu/ancientoys/s.html say this

"It's only a DEMO engine, not playable. Just to show, that Amiga can run Sonic easily. Very fast, and looks like almost the original game. What a shame, that the full game was not ported...
