Another idea, put a gotek in it and copy stuff into blank adf images using uae then transfer it to your usb key.
Also scsi2sd, its not that expensive ($70) and it sure is quieter than spinning rust...

I have ressurected my a2000 with scsi2sd, gotek drive and plipbox for networking.
