Yes, both Gayle revisions have severe problems with logic lock-ups, and this is what caused the instability of the ACA620 which is now fixed. These lock-ups happen a lot more often on the older Gayle revisions.
I have investigated the -01 Gayle instability in depth now, and fixed the ACA620 to work on A300 boards as well.
