Installing 4+ GB HDD in amiga 1200 by pampi
Requirements:
- Amiga 1200 with a 4+ GB HDD

* 01. Clean your HDD with linux (dd if=/dev/zero of=DEVICENAME), where DEVICENAME can be /dev/hdc for example (use ls /dev/disk/by-id to identify)
* 02. Download and install amiga emulator for windows: WinUAE (www.winuae.net)
* 03. Copy Kickstart ROM (Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A1200)[!].rom) to WinUAE installation folder
* 04. Download Classic Workbench Full (classicwb.abime.net).
* 05. Copy System.hdf from Classic Workbench Full to WinUAE installation folder
* 06. Copy workbench disks to WinUAE installation folder
* 07. Start WinUAE (with administrator rights)
* 08. Settings -> Quickstart -> Emulated Hardware -> Model: A1200
* 09. Settings -> Paths -> Rescan ROMs
* 10. Settings -> Hardware -> CPU and FPU -> CPU frequency: 2x
* 11. Settings -> Hardware -> RAM -> Chip: 2MB, Fast: 8MB
* 12. Settings -> Hardware -> Floppy drives -> DF0, Floppy Drive Emulation Speed: 800% (load 01-install.adf) and untick Write-protected
* 13. Settings -> Hardware -> Hard drives -> Add Hardfile -> Path -> System.hdf and untick Read/Write
* 14. Settings -> Hardware -> Hard drives -> Add Hard Drive -> Add your hard drive and tick Read/Write
* 15. Create directory Share in WinUAE installation folder
* 16. Settings -> Hardware -> Hard drives -> Add Directory of Archive -> Device Name: Megosztas, Select directory: Share and OK
* 17. Copy contents of IDE-fix 97, SFS and SmartFilesystem to WinUAE installation folder/Share/.
* 18. Configurations -> Name: Alapertelmezett and Save
* 19. Start the emulated A1200
* 20. Open Floppy image in workbench (Install3.1) -> HDTools.
* 21. Select HDToolBox, right-click and Icons -> Information.
* 22. Change SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=scsi.device to SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=uaehf.device and press save.
* 23. Double click on HDToolbox.
* 24. Click on Change Drive Type
* 25. Press Define New
* 26. Change FileName: value to ram:junk and press Read Configuration and Continue.
* 27. Press Read Configuration and continue, OK, OK and Save Changes to drive.
* 28. Press partition drive and tick Advanced options.
* 29. Create a partition with 512 MB's, call it SDH0 and press Add/Update.
* 30. The 512 is a false value, you have to experiment with this! (until step 37).
* 31. Press Add New File System and share:SmartFilesystem
* 32. DosType: 0x53465300, version: 1, revision: 277 and press OK twice.
* 33. Select the 512 MB partition and change. File System: SFS.
* 34. Mask: 0x7ffffffe, MaxTransfer: 0x1fe00, Blocksize: 512. Press OK.
* 35. Set Buffers to 100, press OK and Save Changes to drive, then Continue.
* 36. Open command windows by pressing Windows Key+e.
* 37. Enter Share:SFS/Smartfilesystem/SFSformat DRIVE SDH0: NAME Rendszer
* 38. Repeat steps 28,33-37 for a big, SDH1 partition called Cuccok (for me it was 59.5GB).
* 39. Open Rendszer: and System:
* 40. On System: Right click -> Window -> Show -> All Files
* 41. On System: Right click -> Window -> Select Contents
* 42. Drag and drop (with shift key) whole System: to Rendszer: (copy all files).
* 43. Restart WinUAE. Eject floppy, Make the share folder and hardfile NOT bootable.
* 44. Start WinUAE and follow installation steps (insert the floppy images when requested). Install artwork for iGame.
* 45. Remove floppy drive, remove workbench hardfile and start winUAE.
* 46. Copy Ide-fix to Share: and start InstallSoftware.
* 47. Register the software and install to Rendszer:System/Ide-fix
* 48. Create a folder called WHDLoad on Cuccok:
* 49. Move Rendszer:Games and Rendszer:Demos to the WHDLoad folder, sort the folders and snapshot their position.
* 50. Copy WHDLoad games and demos to the appropriate folders.
* 51. Startup -> Other -> Assign: Change SYS:Demos to Cuccok:WHDLoad/Demos and SYS:Games to Cuccok:WHDLoad/Games and reboot.
* 52. Copy kickstart roms to Sys:Devs/Kickstarts (using the shared folder, for example)
* 53. Press Drawers icon -> Add Files -> Press AddGames and AddDemos.
* 54. Copy WHDLoad.key to S:
* 55. Copy other software and congratulations, you're done :)
