I wonder if this is where Clone-A may be heading. Currently plug-in replacement chips, but no reason why they couldn't be upgrades...
...it would be funny if all those virtually worthless A500's on fleaBay suddenly jump in price because they have socketed chips & the Clone-A team come up with a 8mb 'morbidly-obese Agnes', possibly with a few other tricks.
