That's a coincidence not an indication of a better player. The original demo's replayer and XMPlay both use vblank timing, if you try the demo on an NTSC machine (or UAE in NTSC mode) you will see why this is not a good thing
It play's correctly in all players if you remove the F21 command from line 0A of pattern 02 or by playing it in UADE with the
-x vblank option.
