First, its new hardware, so it's not going to need recap or other maintenance any time soon.
It is also more configurable, for example, might have one configuration profile like a stock OCS A500 or A1000 with Kickstart 1.3, another like an A600 with OCS and Kickstart 2.1, and another that is more like an accelerated A1200 with AGA and Kickstart 3.1, etc...
I expect one day MiSTer Minimig will be updated to support RTG graphics and other options.
I have been working on a program called MidiLink that runs on the ARM/HPS side that (among other things) allows you to configure the serial port work as a TCP/IP modem which is another device you would need to purchase to do the same thing on a real Amiga. That is available on the Amiga, C=64, 486, Atari ST and CoCo cores. This is the C=64 core dialing Quantum Link Reloaded -->
