You can find things like this in a lot of songs. The tune of the demo Desert Dream is inspired in an old house track, slightly so but noticeably.
It is pretty impossible to leave your influences and what you listen out of your creation process. Everything is a remix.
Paul_s: just because they use the same sample doesn't mean they were "inspired". Many people used presets and sample libraries back then. It was normal for similar patches or same samples to appear. It's like saying all the old Soundtracker tunes are inspired by one another, because they all use the ST-XX sample disk.
