Programming the Mediator directly resulted in the same result. I manually activated PCI memory in the Zorro space, did the BARs on the Voodoo, copied the PPC code to a part in the Voodoo PCI memory...etc.. essentially it's like in the first post from here on.
So I guess Alexh has a point.
