No, at least not if you want to install it properly using installer program. Manual copying of course works but then you are on your own

Nothing to do with CF card. WHDLoad has to stop the game (that took over the system) and restore AmigaOS back to running state temporarily when it accesses HD. Only fix is to have enough free memory and use WHDLoad's PRELOAD option.

Max transfer won't affect speed (at least if you use correct value).
