You need an ACM (Audio Compression Manager) compliant codec. You're best bet is Radium, although LAME supposedly can also function as an ACM encoder.

Radium is the most widely used, and has great quality at lower bitrates as a result of being based on an older build of the Fraunhofer MP3 codec.
