It's kind of fun to map games though, in a strange way... at least I think so, when you start making significant progress and see things come together.

Two of the games I mapped were Batman (isometric one for the ZX Spectrum), and Head over Heels (also isometric game, by the same authors).
At least I didn't have to paint the map itself... Many oldschool maps are done with pen&pencil from games that doesn't even have a minimap system. Here I could just run WinUAE in a window and screenshot the in-game minimap with FRAPS, then I scaled it up and begun to fill in the names and places.
