According to an interview, K240 was going to have (serial?) multi-player, but it was cut due to time and technical limitations.

K240 stores a lot of game state data that updates many times a second. The ship data alone is 37,800 bytes, or 54 bytes per ship for up to 700 ships. The Amiga 500 serial port can only do 19,200 bits/second.
