personally I believe that the only reason they are selling them is the fact they have no product (and unlikely ever to have one).
Trademarks rely on having a product or service to trade - if they don't - they loose the legal right to trade goods and or services under that trademark.
I suspect that when it comes to renewing the trademark they have run out of 1980's 28.8k baud modems to use as products sold - thus they will loose the trademark anyway - after all - with no products or services in the last 10 or so many years they have been winging it anyway..
I say - let them expire - and then let a real team of developers build a product to carry on the name in another time...
