The system you described sounds fast enough for sure, hopefully the video and sound are supported by Aros too. You can try it out for free by downloading and burning the disc image, then boot the PC up with the CD/DVD in the drive and see if it loads up. If everything works fine, you can install it on your hard drive so it boots up every time without the CD.

You can download the two different Aros distributions from the links in my signature. It's worth getting them both and seeing which one suits your needs better, but they're both great fun to try.
