For Sale or Trade - DCE Flicker/Scan Magic

Hi!

Due to the arrival of my Picasso IV this is now surplus...

The DCE Flicker/Scan Magic does what it says on the tin, it fixes the flicker in modes such as High Res Laced & doubles the scan so you can use VGA monitors.

I've tried this on a CRT and LCD monitor, and to be honest the results were much better (in fact amazing) on the CRT, however not so great the LCD, so if you're thinking of a solution for your LCD then this probably isn't for you.

Also some will tell you this is only 16 bit so cannot display AGA modes correctly, this is true and you can notice on a copper background for example the colours do not blend as well, but in the real world with most games and such designed for ECS this really isn't a problem.

The good news however is that it works with both the A1200 and A4000 and if you are using a CRT monitor the results are very very nice indeed - I was genuinly impressed with High Res Laced. (640x512 @256 colours was amazing on the A4000 via the CRT)

I will sell for £65+ P&P or trade/PX for items from the below (some may need a little bit of money either way...)

Indivision ECS
A603
2 or 4mb PCMCIA SRAM
Subway USB
XSurf Zorro LAN Card
ZorRAM
Elbox Spider PCI USB

Non Amiga related...

I'd trade it for a top of the range Socket 939 CPU, i.e AMD FX-65 or 4800+ X2

Thanks for looking,

Steve.

PS. Can I ask that this thread is not turned into a long discusion about the DCE being 16bit and not displaying AGA correctly (I've covered this above.) There are already several posts discussing this - thanks.
