A1200 LED bodge job

I received an A1200 case today, but no LED board.. Had to make one myself.

The 2b motherboard that went in was already modified to take an A500 keyboard, so I removed the LEDs and ballast resistors from the kbd I was going to use, then dug out another A500 keyboard that had most of its parts missing and took the remaining LED and resistor from there.

I applied some sticky tape over the holes on the outside of the case and inserted the LEDs into the holes in the case, lining them up carefully, then I squirted in the hot glue to fasten them in place and peeled off the tape. ;-)

The legs were cut and bent to create the circuit and the series resistors were soldered directly to the legs.

Finally I cut a little sliver of plastic from under the controller PCB of the spare parts keyboard and hot glued that to cover the LEDs.

Just before the plastic went on top: http://jope.fi/amiga/a1200leds.jpg

Power - red, floppy - green, hdd - amber. Looks really nice. Amiga power LEDs are really supposed to be red. :-)
