I have just been testing with Windows 7 and Amiga samba shares, and have managed to make it work

First of all I needed to change authentication level: Amiga samba does support NTLM v2, Win7 client's require it by default:
In Windows open "Gpedit.msc" and find / Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Local Policies / Security Policies - "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level"
Set it to "Send LM and NTLM - Use NTLMv2 session security it negotiated"

Then I needed to set "Turn off password protected sharing" in / Network and Sharing Center / Advanced sharing settings.

Share the drive or folder as usual and give "Everyone" the needed permissions. I have chosen "Full control"

The last thing needed (I think this is what ancalimon is missing?) is to let the "Everyone" user actually have access to the folder or drive. I just added "Everyone" with "Full control" in the "Security Tab" of the folder.

Now I'm able to use my shared windows drives, just as I was when using XP. Hope it works for you as well.
