I'm not a native speaker, but yet I know some things in this language.
For people, "replace" sounds a bit mechanical to me. I can probably replace my run-down kitchen sink, though.
In business, I'd normally say he took over as the main programmer when Brian King decided to retire
instead of saying "I am now replacing him"
And ... uh ... "coder" is maybe a bit too informal and sounds more like "code hacker"
