Ok beat this!
I'm a bit picky with films like, and one had a compression glitch through ~100 frames in the credits. Having no alternate copy, I screendumped before and after the glitch, pasted em in Dpaint 4 and used
move to recreate the scrolling.
The result after batch image export/conversion and remuxing through Virtualdub was seamless.
