Your TNT is quite adequate for WinUAE, as it is more dependant on the horsepower of your CPU than anything else. My P4 1500 MHz and TNT M64 with the options maxed out can do a solid 50 FPS or 120 FPS with frame limiter disabled.

Some WinUAE specific tips in order of effectiveness:
Increase frame skip to every second or third frame.
Use scan lines, not doubled mode.
Decrease sound quality, increase buffer.
Lower Collision level.
