Maybe gklinger was referring to the fact that VMWare and Virtual PC don't emulate a different CPU architecture, but of course al the other aspects of an emulator are used.
Like my old master always told me :
"Your emulator may be as good as gold, but if the hosting OS is crap, it's bound to fail. So young one, set up your drivers carefully..."
