An 8mb card these days will set you back arround £35 on eBay, where as an 030+fast ram will be around £50-70 depending on make / revision.

If i could suggest two particular;

Blizzard 030 Mk4 (030@50mhz)
This is the definitive 030 for the Amiga, it can have upto 128MB in its one simm port, and has the possiblity of adding a SCSI card to it that can also have another 128MB of ram as well...

Apollo 030 Mk3 (030@40mhz)
This card should be a little cheaper than the Blizzy, by around 25% on average. dont be fooled its a great card, although can handle 32MB of ram natively, and after a very simple modification (adding another simm port) can handle another 32MB giving you 64MB ram total.

Apollo cards also have a SCSI module, alas theres no memory expansion on it, and in truth its woefully poor implementation. One of the redeeming qualities of the Apollo 030 mk3 is the fact it has reported slightly faster Chip access times.
