ever thought to use either VDMsound or even DOSBOX to get the dos sound emulation working? ... its clearly an old game that the newer windows versions dont have a clue to use

dosbox can slow the game down so you're playing it like on a 486dx66 (if you wish).... and also emulates dos sound
vdm just does the sound (i think!)
