VGA monitor + scandoubler will give you a better picture..

1) neither is very close, vga is scandoubled (no scanlines) and will flicker a lot thanks to the VGA tube's phosphor being faster than the 1084s, TFT will never look like CRT, the picture is noisier and blurrier.
2) internal

I used to hate the blurred look of TFTs.. Now I use them exclusively and have a huge pile of PAL/220v 1084s waiting to find new homes.
