They were already late in 2000 when it was supposed to ship, the PC market had advanced so much that even with shinny new OS the amiga would had been hard pressed to keep just a slice of the market. Now it is so late that there will be zero comercial new software written for this "classic Amiga 4" because it is quite hopeless to support a platform that has less than a thousand active users. Any real future the amiga platform has is in hands of users that do things like uae, aros & minimig.
I was comparing the lateness to Microsofts, sometimes they hold things up too. As for users I think only the die hards are left using real hardware and spending money the rest of us got sick of it and moved on.
