On my A500 I used a kickstart switch. At the boot doing nothing I had the 2.04, hitting left mouse keys I had old 1.3 for full game compatibility.
Kickstart switch leaves all your RAM free. Relokick or skick take min. 256KB and if you have not enough memory...
