I used to get that on a CD Drive on my blizzard that used a 68pin scsi -> 50 pin scsi convertor...

I fixed it by setting the drive to Asyncronous mode in the SCSI Card settings (On CS MK3 or BPPC hold 'esc' at boot to enter menu)
