I regret paying for RAM when it was very expensive. I had an 8MB SIMM back in 1996 and in retrospect I could have easily done with only 4MB.
Basically anyone buying RAM back then got ripped. A semiconductor factory had burned down and Windoze95 was fairly new, meaning demand was enourmous and supply was tiny. SIMMS were treated like sticks of gold. My university got broken into and all they took was the SIMMS out of the Macs. The staff said they had come in to find all the lids off the Macs but nothing else gone
Today I have piles and piles of 32 and 64 MB sticks unused.
None really, I've always paid the going rate for my amiga stuff it seems
