Works OK until the drive is used... Have you considered power problems?

Anyway, overclocking is dangerous. The CPU might work fine initially, but the additional strain and heat can quickly burn it out. Heat is the major factor - did you leave adequate cooling space around the accelerator board, by raising the 1200 up from the desk and leaving the trapdoor cover off?
