Sure there was.
Mathias Ortmann released 0.6.8 r3 in late 1997 (win32), which is still a very nice non-gui version of WinUAE and hyper-fast on modern PCs.
In February 1998, 0.6.9 R12 (win32) was released, yet still a nice piece of work.

Linux versions of UAE have existed since about 1995.
However, I assumed that you mean Windows versions because to my knowledge, Amiga Forever primarily serves Windows customers.
