Latest development of the wifi driver enables WPA2 encryption and Miami(DX) support. So it is getting there.
Speeds on my A1200 without any external antenna and router on the floor below reach 4Mbytes/s . Other people with router nearer and external antennas went over 5Mb/s ! Not sure if we witnessed these kinds of network speeds on real HW before
