@Stainy - I have set hdmi_group=1 and hdmi_mode=16 (and tested 31) in config.txt, doesn't this force 1080p @ 60Hz ?

You`ll have to tweak it to force the JDMI group and mode that works for your display.
Also OC'ing might have a detrimental effect.
