The newer Amiga ports of ScummVM weren't done by me and are slower than my ports when running on real classic hardware.
It's also worth keeping in mind that because ScummVM supports many game engines and host computers it can never run as fast as the original games, it is after all an interpreter.
My original DOTT Amiga port (this thread) was pretty fast, it ran at basically full speed on a A1200 with just a memory expansion and had both SFX and music.

Did you have to endian swap the audio as well? And was the original sfx 8 bit? The sprites and fonts were they chunky as well or planar? Does the RLE compression require twice as much work on the Amiga as well because of the endian thing?
