Currently you can still buy a complete working A500 for a reasonable price. I have an A500 motherboard with some fault on it but all the custom chips are good (tested in another A500). However some
upgrade chips such as 2MB Agnus and ECS Denise are now ridiculously expensive and will only get more so.
I am very interested in this project for the opportunity make enhanced chips that could be fitted to any existing Amiga - not just Agnus but also eg. Paula with with true 16 bit output, Denise with chunky graphics etc. - the sort of things that Commodore could have done 'back in the day' without too much effort.
