Well, using HiP 2.55 I have it installed in SYS:Utilities/HiP (which is in Path) and it's config files in S: (group, prefs, PS3M)
ArexxMast is started OFC (via Startup-Sequence) but checked it out and it was active.

Once I hit play and after fetching modules, I get a status of "Started HippoPlayer" and then AmiModRadio stalls. The LOG reads the following:

Started HippoPlayer
_connect_player(), could not find known ARexx port of a player
init_blacklists_files(), cannot open list of blacklisted directories
Fetching modules to play

Before running, I opened SnoopDOS and here's it output:

Using HiP 2.45 in same location with all same steps, it works just fine.

Using EaglePlayer, it works just fine. Here's the log:
