There is an add-on for Alien Breed 3d2 called Xenium Core. It includes 16 new levels, few new weapons and enemies. Did anybody played and completed it?

I'm on the level 12 (Research Labs) so far and I'd like to know two things.
1. There is a circular room with many teleports. When entering it a subtitle "Follow the gong" is displayed and then another one "Listen to the gong". What am I supposed to do? Is something special (pass key etc.) inside this room?
2. I managed to reach to the big room with two robots and a pass key with [!] on it. After picking up the key floor immeditely starts to descend and I have to fight with robots. They are very tough and kill me very fast with rockets. Do I have to kill those robots or is it a way to avoid them and escape?
