Yeah, I thought about some kind of t-shirt transfer but the usual ironing-method is not something I'd try on any floppy - at least not one that I'd like to be able to use afterwards..
In some car shows I've seen them make their own (vinyl?) decals that they apply before clear coat painting, but I guess they are probably using some special expensive printer to make those.
