You can move drives up and down by drag & drop.

The initial problem is mainly caused by you using stupid big-floppy-HDFs. If you used real-harddrive partitioned HDFs (a.k.a. RDB mode) you would never again have this problem.

You could also use VHD files (a.k.a. dynamic HDF) to save space on your Windows harddrive.
