I went for option 3. This extension board was not very easy to install. I think Kippers internal solution looks much easier to install.

Edit: The markings on the extension PCB was wrong for the numbering display. They was the wrong way around. For some reason the first 80 assigned tracks got wiped on my 4GB flash drive. Don't know if it had anything to do with the cables being the wrong way around. Just remembered that I made an image of this USB drive so I don't need to re-assign, I can just write the image back.

This solution looks very nice but I will not do this again. I would instead go for Kipper's internal Gotek solution.
