Since my last post, I have taken advantage of the "Upgrade to Windows 10" offer that was on my Win7 SP1 desktop, and am now trying it out.

I had additional problems with my latest WinUAE around stuttering sound, but have downloaded 3.2.0 and it seems to be running smoothly now with the original configs, BUT the individual demo problems still remain.

I suppose it's possible that the files I'm using are corrupt (I did recently redownload a whole lot of them) but before I reinstalled Win7, I am certain they were working properly.

I have to ask two questions:
1. Does Direct3D have any bearing on how the emulation is processed, with CPU or chipset timings, or is simply for on-screen rendering?
2. How often do ADF and DMS files get mirrored on multiple websites, as it seems all the ones I can find suffer from the same problems?
