looking at it from the back...push a medium sized flat screwdriver in the gap and and about 10 mm from the bottom (this is where there is a clip) on the right hand side of the cover then gently push the screwdriver to the right and up at the same time so it hinges on the left like a door keep going till you free the clip on the left hand side.
At lot of used CD32`s have these clips broke because of the brute force used to take them off
