Absolutely, "be the change you want to see in the world".

On the technical aspect of Aqua Kitty (which I like being a kitty myself): the parallax does not seem to hard to handle. There are many areas where the overlaps between the layers narrows to a relatively narrow horizontal band and the rest could probably be blitted easily.

Moreover the layers are mono chromatic so much simpler to blit since they can act as their own mask! => Fast.

However I kinda wonder if passing it to 320 pixels wide will make it lose part of its mix of low-res/high-res sprites charm.

I say, whoever wants to code it (not me) should attempt a hires version. Since sprites are always lowres in ECS that's perfect to emulate the Aqua Kitty look.
