You should also get the map fix for Malice:

Extract it to Quake/Malice/maps - you will have to create the maps drawer yourself. For some reason they called the map d8b.bsp and instructed people to type map d8b into the console to play it. I can't see any reason why it should not be renamed d8.bsp to replace the original so that it can be played normally in the game...
