Yep, the emulation for the Toccata library is fine, but the equivalent for the MAS player would be an mhi.library or mpeg.device library that passes the decoding onto the x86 host. That's a decent idea, but you don't need to emulate the MAS itself for that. Emulating the MAS seems like a bizarre waste of resources to me, but of course it is possible and the data sheets are available - pretty sure I have a copy at home.

It's a MAS3507D chip with some simple logic to double the clock from one of the parallel port pins, and the serialised data is fed via another parallel port pin. The schematic is readily available at http://www.mas-player.de/
