CF IDE works on one A600 but not on another

I am trying to get an A600 working with a CF to IDE adapter but somehow it's not found, when I hold both mouse buttons the partitions are not shown.

Now the strange thing is, this adapter works...

I just found this project, and would like to order some boards.
Looked at the gerber and see they are joined in a way unknow to me.
How do you seperate the 2 boards? Why not use breakout tabs?
