The Octamed docs say 19 is the same as 9 for Protracker. So it should work this way: 19xx (xx = 00-FF). Your value 111 is decimal what is $6F in hex.

I have replaced it with two AAA rechargeable batteries. Works fine. But any other solution should do it. Something around 3V I guess. Seems Apollo 1240 is tolerant enough.
