Thanks Thomas , it did manage to find another 400+mb or so , but not quite the extra 8gb im missing, i think the only way is to format the card itself and reinstall, something i dont really fancy...

For anyone that was interested with my problem...

For anyone that was interested with my problem above , turns out it was the MX1000 mouse driver and or freewheel program, as soon as i disabled MX from startup-sequence, problem was gone.

If the mouse is an old ball mouse, make sure the rollers inside are clean and not all crudded up with gunk, they usually gain a thing line of gunk...

i bought couple of these a while back, when i was refurbing a cd32 to sell , the colour is definitely off, but compared to the battered and scratched original , it still made it look a lot better....
